One Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) system (vacuum thin film) with load lock sample entry, which can be used to deposit thin films from 5 different sources. Samples of up to 10cm x 10cm can routinely be accommodated. We have several «magnetron» deposition sources for the system, including one «dual cathode» source, and a range of power supplies allowing DC, Pulsed DC, Mid-RF and RF sputtering to accommodate production of thin films of metals, insulators, semiconductors, «reactive sputtering» of material is also routine.
2 Physical Vapour nanoparticle sources Can produce a line of nanoparticle deposit (aprx. 10cm x 3mm) across a sample that can be scanned across the beam to produce a uniform coating. These sources can be mounted on the above system, for production of nanoparticle or nano-composite materials.
A small onsite mechanical workshop with hybrid CNC milling machine, drill, lathe and metal band saw, for production of custom specialist parts (typically non-ferrous).
A well equipped electronics workshop for assembly and testing of Printed circuit boards and electronics.
